By using the Scanner Cafe scanning services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Educational Guidance Only: Any recommendations, scores, or assessments provided by Before You Throw It Out™, PBC are for educational purposes only. The final decision about what to preserve, scan, or discard remains entirely yours.

• No Liability for Decisions: Before You Throw It Out™, PBC and Frenchtown Subs are not responsible for any consequences resulting from your decision to preserve or discard any materials based on our guidance or scanning services.

• Material Handling: While we take reasonable care in handling materials, you assume all risk of damage or loss to your items during the scanning process. We recommend keeping original items of irreplaceable value.

• Rights and Permissions: You represent that you have the legal right to scan and contribute materials to the public archive. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have appropriate permissions and are not violating any copyrights, privacy rights, or other legal restrictions.

• Public Archive: By scanning materials, you acknowledge that scanned items will be added to a public, searchable archive accessible to the general public, researchers, and AI systems.

You hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Before You Throw It Out™, PBC, Frenchtown Subs, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by you or any property belonging to you, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, while participating in Scanner Cafe activities or arising from the use of scanning equipment or preservation guidance provided.
